Local students from diverse ethnic backgrounds to present “Living the Dream: 50 Years and Beyond”
An ethnically diverse group of nearly 20 elementary, middle and high school students from Gitana Productions’ Global Education through the Arts program will present free public performances of “Living the Dream: 50 Years and Beyond” during February, Black History Month.
Cecilia Nedal, director and cast of Gitana Productions, Inc., a not-for-profit arts and education organization dedicated to increasing cultural awareness and appreciation through international music, dance and drama. Gitana events offer a rarely seen diversity of international and local artists, exhibiting a mix of traditional and innovative artistic expression.
Through strategic community collaborations, Gitana is dedicated to providing leadership, by example, in attracting ethnically and economically diverse citizens to our audience and stage.
Gitana also sponsors the annual “Deeds Beyond Race: Extraordinary/Ordinary Person of the Year” campaign which recognizes and honors individuals who reach beyond race and culture to improve our community.
