Diddy Is Changing His Name Again & This Time He's Making It Legal

Sean John Combs, a.k.a. Diddy, will soon be Sean Love Combs.

According to TMZ, the business mogul has taken legal action to change his middle name from John to Love.

Diddy reportedly filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court for the name change. In the legal documents, Diddy says he's changing his name from Sean John Combs to Sean Love Combs, but did not reveal why.

While he didn't mention what was behind his decision to change his middle name to "Love," he previously joked about changing his full name to "Brother Love" back in 2017. As fans know, the 49-year-old music exec, whose gone by a few names — Puffy, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy — throughout his prolific career made a video to announce that he was was changing his name to Brother Love on his 48th birthday.

"I have some very serious serious news. I've been praying on this and I decided to ... change my name again," he began the 50-second clip. "I'm just not who I am before. I'm something different. So my new name is love, a.k.a Brother Love."

He added, "I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy or any of my other monikers but love or Brother Love. Okay?"

While Diddy later admitted that he was joking about changing his name to "Love," it's safe to say this time around he's very serious.
