Jameela Jamil Calls-Out Culture & Oppressive Beauty Standards

Emerging Hollywood is the brand new show from The Hollywood Reported hosted by none other than Charlamagne Tha God where he dives in with celebrity guests sharing their views on topics including inclusion, racial politics, gender and body positivity.

This week on the show Charlamagne Tha God sat down with the 'The Good Place' star Jameela Jamil. talks about her own early struggles with oppressive beauty standards, call-out culture in America, her social activism, and South Asia representation in Hollywood.

In Chapter two of this weeks "Emerging Hollywood" Jamil & Charla discuss feminism and how it's not always inclusive to everybody, "I want feminism to mean that i am an ally to all woman and that includes trans woman and i've learned over the last year from black woman how much Black woman are left out of feminism and that has taught me that I need to step up, and do more to make sure my feminism is more intersectional."

The actress has also previously called out some of the biggest names in Hollywood such as Cardi B, Khloe Kardashian, Iggy Azalea, and Amber Rose for the promotion of "Flat Tummy Tea", a product which is meant to be a cleanser of sorts to help you "cleanse your system, support metabolism and reduce your bloating" according to their website. Speaking on the matter and strongly believing that those promoting this product don't even use it she had to say "their selling products that their not announcing the side effects of their posts, their selling products will bold claims of abilities of weight loss and aesthetic differences their attributing their aesthetic that is down to a trainer, chef, a dietitian, photoshop & surgery to a powder that you buy over the internet."
