During a United Negro College Fund dinner, comedian Kevin Hart suprised 18 collegiates with scholarships, all totaling $600k!
The scholarship recipients included KIPP students from 11 historically black colleges and universities, including Morehouse College, Spelman College, Fisk University, Dillard University and Xavier University.
“I am living proof that if you put your mind to something you can not only achieve it, but you can go above and beyond the expectations of what you thought that you could do. After you open one door, the crazy thing is you find out that there are seven more doors that you could open,” Hart said. “Education is that first door – breeze through this!
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime – breeze through it! When you get to that next door…breeze through that. Success is what you want it to be,” he added. “At the end of the day, we are what we want to be. Do not allow others to hold you back.”
