It's Andre 3000's Birthday!

Andre met Big Boi in Atlanta and teamed up to form Outkast. The group was signed to LaFace records and released their debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, in 1994. The album went platinum band Outkast was named Best New Rap Group of the Year at the 1995 Source Awards.

Their next two albums, ATLiens in 1996 and Aquemini in 1998 experimented with adding elements of trip hop, soul, jungle, and a return to traditional black music. Outkast received commercial and critical acclaim and on their fourth album, Stankonia, the group's crossover appeal increased with the single "Ms. Jackson", which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2002, Outkast released a greatest hits album, Big Boi and Dre Present... OutKast, which contained "The Whole World", won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

In 2003, Outkast released Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, a double album that spawned the number-one hit "The Way You Move" and "Hey Ya!" as the Love Below features vocals from Benjamin which are mostly sung.

In 2006, Outkast's sixth album Idlewild, served as a soundtrack to the group's film Idlewild that depicts life in a 1930s setting. In 2007, Andre began appearing on remixes including "Walk It Out", "Throw Some D's", "You", and Jay-Z's "30 Something". He contributed to UGK's "International Players Anthem", Devin the Dude's "What a Job", Fonzworth Bentley's "Everybody", and Big Boi's "Royal Flush" alongside Raekwon.

Last year, with Kanye West, Andre featured on "Life of the Party" as part of a deluxe edition of Donda.
