NEW ORLEANS: Already Flooded and a Hurricane's Coming

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • Also on Wednesday, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration issue a report that warned of a "floodier" future.
  • You'd think after all the flooding New Orleans has experienced; city planners could come up with a solution to alleviate the problem.
  • Then again, some in power don't think climate change is real.

Flood waters from Hurricane Katrina cove

Parts of New Orleans are already underwater due to flooding and now a hurricane is predicted to hit the city by the end of the week.

The city was hit by as much of seven inches of rain during a three-hour stretch on Wednesday morning, according to forecasters. They also said the current storm is predicted to transform into a hurricane by Friday.

The flooding was so bad that some residents took to kayaks to travel the streets.

And it's likely going to get worse. Forecasters predict that Louisiana could get up to a foot of rain by Monday, with some areas getting drenched with up to 18 inches. (USA Today)
