DR. SEUSS: Six Books Removed Over Racist Imagery

Long-Lost Dr. Suess Book Published 25 Years After His Death

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • Cancel culture has gone too far. Children's books are being targeted now?
  • There are still about 54 other Dr. Seuss books kids can read.
  • Maybe the books can be re-published with new, less-offensive illustrations.
  • Some of these books are from the '30s and '40s. It was a different time back then.
  • Why can't they just publish the books with a disclaimer?

Six Dr. Seuss children's books will no longer be published due to some imagery that has drawn criticism for being racially offensive.

Dr. Seuss Enterprises, which owns the rights to the books, is pulling the following titles off shelves: And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, Scrambled Eggs Super!, If I Ran the ZooMcElligot’s Pool, On Beyond Zebra! and The Cat’s Quizzer. These particular books were singled out because they "portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong."

The announcement was made today, which happens to be author Theodor Seuss Geisel's birthday and also Read Across America Day. (TMZ)
