DAUNTE WRIGHT: Fourth Night of Protests

Hundreds filled the streets outside of police headquarters again, but there were fewer violent clashes.

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

-The manslaughter charge may have helped to quell some of the protests last night.

-Protesters said they have no plans to stop showing up at police headquarters.

-Potter will make her first court appearance this afternoon

Another 24 people were arrested for violating curfew orders and rioting, but there were fewer clashes with police as they dispersed the crowd and no reports of businesses looted. Meanwhile, in nearby Champlin, Minnesota, the home of former police officer Kim Potter, who fired the fatal shot, was shielded by concrete barricades and metal fencing.

Earlier in the day, Potter was arrested and charged with 2nd degree manslaughter. She posted $100,000 bail and was released. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in jail, but many demonstrators made it clear they don't think it's enough. (USA Today)
