Scam alert ... A TikToker is sharing her job hunt experience that almost led to her being scammed out of $2,000. She said she joined Upwork as a freelancer and was looking for a side gig. She saw a listing from food site Delish for a part-time editor that was right up her ally. She had an interview with someone she thought was from the company via Skype, then she received a $2,000 invoice for a computer that they said would be shipped to her shortly with a reimbursement check. Here's the kicker ... they told her to put down her card for the $2k. She said in hindsight, the fact that the interview was on Skype, instead of Teams or Zoom, was the first red flag. The fact that they asked for her credit card information was the second and final. She reached out to active employees with Delish who confirmed that the job posting was fake.
