Woman Tips $2,021 To Local Servers, Inspired By #VenmoChallenge On TikTok

Generous TikTok users have spread the #VenmoChallenge, pooling donations to leave huge tips for servers at restaurants.

The challenge comes as many restaurants have struggled with the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic that’s been going on for nearly a year.

The social media challenge is how Nicole Genz, who owns RF Home Co. in Kirkwood, gave a $2,021 tip to a Rock Hill server.

She also gave a $2,021 tip to a server at Saffron Indian Cuisine in St. Louis.

And it doesn't stop there.

Followers of the RF Home Co. Facebook page took part in the challenge, submitting donations to @ndawn on Vemno.

“Tonight we gifted someone $2021. She could not have been more appreciative…I’m sharing this video with you because you all made this happen. You did good,” Genz wrote in a Facebook post sharing a video of her Hacienda server receiving the tip. “I hope this inspires you guys to make your own circles and bless someone big! This is 100% you, we were just the messenger so thank you for making this possible.”

“We have already raised $1011 for tomorrow night and will be going to a very small restaurant in another part of St. Louis county, and I’m extra excited,” Genz added. “If you would like to contribute even $1...my venmo is @ ndawn. And I’m sending one of you $100 right now! Jama- check your venmo! #keepitgoing”
