Meagan Good is opening up about her commitment to standing by her boyfriend, Jonathan Majors, amid his controversies.

The actress appeared to stay by Majors' side amid his court case over a 2023 domestic dispute with his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari. A jury found Majors guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment in connection to the incident. In April, the actor was sentenced to one year of an in-person batterers intervention program in Los Angeles.

Despite scrutiny of her relationship with Majors, Good said she's "someone who’s incredibly rebellious when I believe in something and in someone," per PEOPLE.

"Those who want to give you the benefit of the doubt will. And those who don’t, won’t. And there’s nothing you can do about it," she added.

Good, who is portraying Ava, a domestic violence survivor, in the movie Divorce in the Black, said she "understand(s) the comparison" to what's unfolded over the past year, "but what I can say is this: I don’t condone domestic violence at all."

The Divorce in the Black star added that she and Majors “were so busy trying to survive this season of life, I don’t even think we thought about [a connection]" with the film's plot and his case.

"It wasn’t until the movie was done that the conversation came up," Good noted.

Good said her ex-husband DeVon Franklin is a "wonderful, beautiful human being," but she relates to the character she portrays in the film because she "understand(s) the devastation of divorce."

Like Ava, Good also said she "didn’t anticipate falling in love again."
