Tory Lanez dropped new music from behind bars, and fans aren't even mad. Some of them are actually impressed.

On Friday, July 26, the incarcerated artist released two new songs from his Prison Tapes series. Both songs are surprisingly crispy even though they were recorded from his cell. On "Wish I Never Met You," Lanez vents about coping with the aftermath of a past relationship. He croons about losing a woman who he used to watch anime with, but doesn't name names. He could be talking about his ex-wife Raina Chassagne — who divorced him last month — or his former girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion.

"We watched anime 'til we can't watch," he raps. "I can't watch no more/It remind me of you way too much/We came way too close, Didn't know losin' you'd be way too much."

Fans buzzed about what to expect from Tory Lanez's new music after he revealed his team "cracked the code" earlier this week. Most of his Umbrellas praised Lanez for the incredible quality of both records, which appear on his "Free Tory Playlist." However, some people were quick to bring up Meg's name, especially after they heard "Wish I Never Met You."

"Tory Lanez dropping harder songs from prison than 99.9% of rappers dropping free is the wildest thing I’ve ever seen," one X user commented.

"Megan just ruined Tory Lanez life now man’s dropping 'I wish i never met you' from prison 💔😭," a fan wrote.

Lanez's other new track "Cell 245" opens with a recording of a phone call from the prison where he's serving his 10-year sentence. Lanez was found guilty of all three charges against him two years after he shot Megan Thee Stallion in the feet. His sentencing was delayed by several months while his attorneys pushed for a new trial. After a judge denied his request, Lanez was sentenced and transferred to North Kern State Prison in Delano. On his new song, the Toronto native reminisces about life on the outside and seemingly alludes to the ongoing appeal of his conviction.

"I'ma beat my case, b***h, I ain't worried 'bout no settlement/Truly, I'm a gentleman, let the Lord settle it," Tory spits.
