TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • The list of witnesses reads like a list of featured artists for a new project.
  • This is going to be the trial of the decade.
  • I wonder how many of these stars will actually take the stand.
  • A lot of these folks are more likely to speak to Young Thug's overall character and importance to the community versus expert analysis or eyewitness testimony.

Jury selection in Young Thug’s RICO trial has officially begun.

Attorneys for both sides began questioning potential jurors on Wednesday, looking to identify potential conflicts or biases that would disqualify folks from participating. In addition, a list has surfaced showing potential witnesses that are likely to be called during the trial.

The state of Georgia has 372 witnesses listed, more than half of whom are current and former members of the Atlanta PD, Georgia Bureau of Investigations, or other agencies like FBI and ATF. That list also includes names like Lil Wayne, Killer Mike, Rich Homie Quan, YFN Lucci, Birdman and Lyor Cohen. Young Thug’s family members and ex-girlfriend Jerrika Karlae are also listed. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
