A new study from the Medical University of Vienna found that while vegans tend to exercise more than the average person, more than half of all vegans eat an unhealthy diet – one filled with processed foods, sweets, and snacks.

 A new study from the Medical University of Vienna found that while vegans tend to exercise more than the average person, more than half of all vegans eat an unhealthy diet – one filled with processed foods, sweets, and snacks. Researchers identified two types of vegan diets: “convenience” and “health-conscious.”

Convenience vegans, about 53% of the study participants, ate more processed vegan foods and snacks, while the health-conscious group, at 47%, ate more fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.
