Kevin Liles Talks Protecting Black Art, Takeoff, Migos, Kanye West +More

Co-Founder of 300, Kevin Liles, came through to The Breakfast club with an important message: #ProtectBlackArt! For over 25 years, Kevin has been the man behind the success of many of your favorite artists i.e Megan Thee Stallion, Migos, Lil Baby, Young Thug, Gunna and the list goes on! This R&B/ Hip-Hop Executive noticed a shift happening in music which required him to begin the process of  protecting the creative rights of black art. Currently, two of his artists Gunna and Young Thug are held in prison without bail due to the judicial system is using their lyrics as evidence. This is not a nuance conversation, however when posed with the meaning behind this law, Kevin presents a different perspective that this can hinder black artistry.  It’s the conversation of Reality vs Art, which challenges how art is being controlled and lives are being affected behind art.

Being that Kevin’s relationship with the Migos is close, the passing of TakeOff hit home. We also learn about Kevin’s start in the business and how he is the executive producing the “Villie Manilly” the documentary.  One thing is for-sure, Kevin Liles dropped gems for days! Check out the full interview above!
